Newark Office of Reentry
This Office, located at City Hall, is devoted to helping formerly incarcerated people return home from prison or jail and become successful, productive members of the Newark community. The Office has developed several programs that help formerly incarcerated individuals find work, reunite with their families, and obtain supportive services such as mentoring, case management, and housing.
The Office also serves as a primary referral source to community-based organizations and other resources. Since it opened its doors less than nine months ago, the Office has served more than 700 formerly incarcerated individuals and connected them to job placement, mentoring, case management and other services.
