Newark Master Plan
Steven F. Olivo is an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Labor and Personnel Section. As a member of the Labor section, he appears before the City's hearing officers, the New Jersey State Board of Mediation, the Office of Administrative Law, the New Jersey Superior Court, and the United States Court for the District of New Jersey, representing the City in employment and personnel actions ranging from simple suspensions for minor misbehavior all the way up to large scale termination and civil rights matters. Mr. Olivo spent nine years in private practice doing bank foreclosures, workers' compensation, insurance coverage, and personal injury and construction defect litigation before coming here in August of 2005.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA, and his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark.
