Alison Brown Jones
Assistant Corporation Counsel
Alison Brown Jones is an assistant corporation counsel and section chief of the workers' compensation section. Jones joined the City of Newark Law Department in 1982 and served as a municipal prosecutor and as a contracts and workers’ compensation attorney. She served for two years as section chief of the labor section. During her tenure with the city she served as a municipal court judge for five years and as presiding judge for 10 years.
Jones received her diploma in nursing from the University of Medicine and Dentistry and is a registered nurse. She received her B.A. in economics from Jersey City State College and her law degree from Rutgers School of Law in Newark.
