Crowning of Senior Queens for the Puerto Rican Statewide Parade of Newark NEWARK—Newark Municipal Council Vice President, Luis Quintana, invites the public to join him in celebrating the 4th Annual Crowning of the Queen of the Golden Age of the Puerto Rican Statewide Parade of New Jersey. Eight seniors will be crowned during a luncheon on Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Flamboyan Manor located at 147 Verona Avenue, Newark, NJ.

The Members of their Senior Centers selected the Queens.

“We must continue to give back to those who have paved the way for us. We create these traditions so that we can remember and instill in our community, the sacrifices and hard work that came before our own personal journeys. Our seniors must be honored at every important occasion,” said Newark Municipal Councilman, Luis Quintana.

The Statewide Puerto Rican Parade will commemorate their 47th Anniversary this year during their Annual Parade. The celebration will take place Sunday, September 16, 2007, 12:00 noon along Broad Street, starting at Lincoln Park and ending at Raymond Blvd.
