Statement from Newark Municipal Council President, Mildred C. Crump:


“It is with great sorrow that I must terminate Mr. Keith Reid, effective immediately. I again point out that everyone is entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence and Keith is no exception. However, even the mere perception of the culture of corruption that has become an unfortunate hallmark of New Jersey politics cannot be allowed to pervade this Office.

“I hold myself to the highest possible standards and I expect my staff to follow my example without exception. My prayers and best wishes go out to Keith and his family.”
