HEALTHCARE REFORM COMES TO NEWARK
NEW SAFETY NETS ESTABLISHED FOR COMMUNITY MEDICAL CARE

Mayor Cory Booker, in partnership with Heinz Family Philanthropies and other groups, is providing quality medical care and prescription medicine to Newarkers in need to fill the gaps in existing societal safety nets as the healthcare reform debate continues in Washington, D.C. The new programs are called NewarkHealthPlus, NewarkRx, Brick City Rx and the City of Newark Discount Rx Card.

Who qualifies?
  • Newarkers suffering from chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, who cannot afford a family doctor.
  • Newarkers who have trouble paying for their prescription medications.

When do the programs begin?

  • They’re underway right now.

BRICK CITY RX
